albadger: (Badger's Bad Mood)

I'm out of the habit of babbling on about my tedious adventures -- used to putting up a sentence or two on Facebook, expanding to a Haiku on Fridays, no more -- but no way to get started again but to get started. Let me know if I'm not doing it right.
  • A friend died Wednesday; a great guy, but I hadn't seen him for several years. Too young. His memorial is going to be on Monday. On Friday I went to the rehearsal for the semi-staged reading of "Love's Labour's Lost", which is to be done on Monday. I didn't have the courage to tell the director I wouldn't be able to continue.
  • Saturday: [livejournal.com profile] bigredpaul was set to perform in a fundraiser at the Edge, & invited me to come see his act. I drove into SF, picked Paul up, dropped him off at the bar, & found parking. When I walked into the bar I was overwhelmed by anxiety, and left right away. I tried calming myself down with a quesadilla but my crowd-phobia kept building to the point where I couldn't stand being among the people at the taqueria, or even the crowd on the street. I texted Paul & drove home.
  • Still Saturday: I worked up the nerve to call the director and let him know I won't be able to do the reading, after which I desperately needed caffeine.
  • Still Saturday: good friends Mike & Georgia call; they were going to the Eddie Izzard show & wanted to have dinner with me ahead of time. I agreed hesitantly, not wanting to be among people. Japanese cuisine. The reason they wanted to meet, really, was to tell me that they are moving away from the Bay Area, to Loomis. It's a good move for them, & I won't see any less of them, since I haven't seen that much of them for the last few years. Still.
  • Still Saturday: [livejournal.com profile] progbear talks me into going to see the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and in a hurry, since it's been allowed into theaters for about 15 minutes. I'm glad I took him up on that, even though at times I wanted to bolt, just from the small grouping of humans in the small auditorium. It's an amazing movie, if you can handle Gilliam's style (clearly most movie reviewers can't). Expect the same critics who hate this now to call it a masterpiece in 10 years.
  • Sunday: I set my alarm for 8am to get up for grocery shopping, and then sleep until 11am. I need to shop but I don't want to see other shoppers. Does the local Safeway deliver?
End of ramble. Like I said, I'm out of practice. With a lot of things.

Sounds to me like you need a massive dose of "Al Time". Yes, Safeway delivers if you order online.
