Funny how things work out

I had a fantasy trip planned to NYC this weekend, to be centered on the Met's matinee of Stiffelio, which was to feature the mind-boggling soprano Sondra Radvanovsky. Well, I didn't go, worried about cost, also worried about leaving my cat alone while his health was declining. As it turned out, the cat is gone now, but Sondra cancelled! The woman taking her place is good, but wouldn't I have felt the fool having traveled 3000 miles to have Sondra cancel on me.
I am going to be in New York City in March, for a different rarely done Verdi opera, Attila, which doesn't have any leads I'm attached to. Cancel away, I say.
Oh, yeah... anybody in New York City got a sofa?
