How about Donizetti's l'Esule di Roma, with Cecilia Gasdia in the lead soprano part. It's a slight but pleasing work, just on the cusp of the change from opera seria with its florid lines and happy endings to the full-blooded tragic melodrama most people think of when they think Italian opera. None of you have it, do you? I thought not. Philistines.

I just bought Barry Unsworth's Morality Play at the San Lorenzo library book sale. I'm three chapters in already. It's pretty good.

I bought the Great Rupert at the 99 Cent Store. I haven't watched it... or even unwrapped it. Honestly, I'm a little afraid of it.

Any of you mooks been to the American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin? I have. You know you're not in California when the outdoor theatre has free bug repellent at every entrance. They had the best Antony and Cleopatra I've ever seen, and the best Love's Labour's Lost.
