Mad world! Mad kings! Mad composition!
John, to stop Arthur's tide in the whole,
Hath willingly departed with a part,
And France, whose armor conscience buckled on,
Whom zeal and charity brought into the field,
something something something
Of kings, of beggars, old men, young men, maids --
Who having no external thing to lose
But the word "maid," cheats the poor maid of that --
That smooth-faced gentleman, tickling Commodity.
Commodity, the bias of the world;
The world, who of itself is piesed well,
Made to run even upon even ground,
something something something
And this same bias, this Commodity,
something something something
From a resolved and honorable war
To a most base and vile-concluded peace.
And why rail I on this Commodity?
But for because he hath not wooed me yet;
Not that I have the power to clutch my hand
something something something
And like a beggar rail upon the rich.
Well, while I am a beggar, I will rail
And say there is no sin but to be rich;
And, being rich, my virtue then shall be
To say there is no sin but beggary.
Since kings break faith upon Commodity,
Gain, be my lord, for I will worship thee!
I'm supposed to have the whole thing memorized and ready to read for strangers in 2 hours and 23 minutes. Pray for Mongo.

Well, how'd it go?

Went okay. Like that review of Keanu Reeves as Hamlet went, "He said all of the right words, and mostly in the right order."

It's for a series of readings -- I've already done three, but they bring in new directors, and ask that everybody audition for them. But if you get cast in the reading of Romeo and Juliet, there's actually a stipend, because they're travelling the reading to a retirement community! Woo hoo! 20 bucks!

Y'should see what I do for less than 20 bucks, 8 times a day!

I know for a fact it's a lot more interesting than what I do for less than 20 bucks, 8 times a day...

It's a lot more interesting than what ANYONE does for less than $20, and I'm grateful....

Not that I don't wish we ALL were doing just what we want, and getting paid what we deserve!

Well, thankee! One can never tell at auditions -- I've had ones I was sure were disasters, & I ended up getting parts from, & the other way around of course. That's why I prefer to do auditions with my glasses off & no contact lenses... better if you can't read expressions...

OT, but those pix you've been posting are mighty fine! Growr!

Cheers!

For the most part, they've been done with random crap image capture devices, mostly my iPhone and my iSight cam attached to my laptop, or my G5.

I don't know how long I'll keep going with it, but for now, I am having fun.

Thanx! I won't know how I did with the auditors for a while. There's one I'm sure I did poorly with, because she has very precise ideas as to how Shakespearean verse should be read, and I think she's full of bollocks, and I don't read that way. So it's a win-win, with her at least.

If any of them call me, I'll know they're still alive!

Unless... unless it's like in that Twilight Zone episode! [Shudder] I may not answer my phone for a while --

wait, I don't answer it now! That creditor thing. So it's a win-win.
