Item # 2 on Things to Do before I Die
Feb. 5th, 2014 12:12 amOne of the things I obsess about is state-to-state border crossings -- because of my upbringing as a military brat, and subsequent travels as an adult, I've done most of them (and all of the borders in the Far West). State to state borders uncrossed by me are in orange in the following map. And I want to cross them all.
I'm figuring I could do the whole lot of them in 3 weekend trips and 3 week-long trips. It would be important to add activities & destinations, like Devil's Tower in Wyoming, or what is supposed to be a kick-ass steakhouse in Boise City, Oklahoma -- and who'd want to miss the Creation Museum in Kentucky? Or maybe I could be in the audience for Jerry Springer!
My favorite uncrossed border is the Missouri-to-Kentucky one, which has no bridge & no road, just an on-demand car ferry. How many Californians have done that?
UPDATE: The Jerry Springer Show is now taped in Connecticut, not Cincinnati, so will not serve my purposes at all... Sad, that...
