New Year, New Rules
Jan. 2nd, 2012 08:34 pmI have been hideously neglectful of this blog in recent years, largely due to my own emotional issues (depression or apathy? if the result is the same, does the definition matter?) but also due to the crude temptation of Facebook (to my credit, I have Tweeted only once) and personal difficulties (most of my non-work time for the past year and a half has been spent with family, as my Mom's health declined). New year. Well. Here goes.
Let's start. So far in 2012, seen Poison, the Help and the Blind Side which are a low-budget masterpiece, deserving OscarBait with great performances and undeserving OscarBait with good performances, respectively. In each case, the chiropractor was the real killer.
I'm back from Pep Boys with new oil in my car and new tires on her front feet. The evening quest was for buttermilk, which seems to be sold out nearly everywhere. I have no idea what "Bulgarian" buttermilk consists of, and I'm not sure I want to know. I do know that the cooking spree of Beloved Tenant has already paid off for me in the form of delicious brownies AND delicious cookies -- he wasn't happy with the first batch of cookies, but they were great, and the second batch was even better.
Nothing else in my January 2nd is of any interest to anybody, ever. Have fun, everybody!
- I will select a more cheerful default lj icon (fuzzy extract from 2011 Disneyland trip).
- I will post about every movie I see, with at least a brief appraisal. I promise no review or critique, and will only supply spoilers if it's so horrible that I fear for your safety should you sit through it yourself.
- Same for every play, concert or other live performance.
- I will check in once a week with a short precis of my doings, which for January will be dominated by Arcadia rehearsals and the joy of switching to a new database at work.
- I will... uh... I know there's another one... oops!
