Secret Santa Strikes!

I must endeavor to be a better lj poster, as I am about to begin a trip back East that will involve other LJers. Ok, start with today, when I got a package from Amazon.com -- totally cool book called Shocking True Story, about Confidential magazine from the 1950s. I'd heard the Fresh Air interview with the author only a few days ago and thought it sounded cool, plus a tie-in with a delightfully silly book urso and tmaher got me for Xmas on more or less the same period. This book is going on the trip with me!

And that was the point, it was a surprise gift for the trip from... oh, I suppose I should respect my Secret Santa's privacy? What a great lift for the spirits. And this after a fun time last night at urso's birthday party held by keanubear, at which I did not have an allergic reaction to anything. Tonight I get to see hardybear live on stage, and tomorrow I have a bit part in a low-budget feature film with no lj-ers that I know of. Then off to Florida Monday night, with a great new book. Thanks again, Secret Santa!

I'm at the SF Art Institute at 800 Chestnut, dressed as a mental patient, which I guess I am, since I've been here since 2pm & still waiting for anything to happen, though we have rehearsed the scene where the hero walks past me about 3 billion times. But the good news is, pizza arrived! The 3 Cs of low-budget filmmaking - credit, copy... and catering! And there's the cool Diego Rivera mural to look at when I get bored, as seen below.
