So much for compassion

A wolf spider is crawling across the pile of used socks and shirts on my bedroom floor. "If you're still there this afternoon," I say to the spider, "I'll move you outside, okay? Better hunting there."

My cat pounces on the spider and eats it.

Sparky loved the spider with his stomache.

Nature, whilst cruel, can be pretty damned funny.

You should see how crazy the cats around here go whenever a moth gets trapped in the house. It’s pretty amusing, actually.

Feed Dog will do the same thing.....

so, I always grab an empty wineglass (they're all over the place) and a piece of paper, right away. Then I introduce them to the bush right outside the front door.

(My driveway is a gauntlet of wolf-spider webs, these days....)

Otherwise, there are too many good hiding places around here, and I've been charged at by wolf spiders! (and THAT muthafucka was HUGE!!!!)
