Workplace Chum, or Not Safe For Work?
Oct. 8th, 2008 07:20 pmOne of the nice things about the place where I work (and I'll be fair, the only NOT nice thing is I don't get paid enough, it's a great place) is the chum. Hardly a week goes by without management handing me a mug or a t-shirt or a shopping bag. We even got to specify size and style of the jackets we're getting next week.
This week's haul was especially serendipitous. I was sitting in my cubicle wondering why I was down to only one handkerchief, & thinking I should buy some more, when in comes my supervisor with a handful of goodies. We're paying a lot of attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month here, and everything was pink -- a charming little pink girly broach, a pink shopping bag, and -- a pink bandana! My dream fulfilled! I thanked my boss profusely enough to confuse her.
Then I went on line and found out what pink means in the handkerchief code.
